Brief Introduction to ZhangGuangzhao New and Fast Chinese

1. Achievment and results

Professor Zhang Guangzhao, who studies deeply and has made remarkable achievement in the fields of philosophy, education, Chinese learning and innovation, etc.  His most valuable and workable achievement is philosophical revolution and literacy revolution “ZhangGuangzhao New and Fast Chinese Language Teaching Approach”. After ten years of researchhis textbooks The Songs of Literacy, teaching aids Writing Pad, teaching materials and software have come into being and matured. Using this method he teaches Chinese pre-school children, the first and second grade pupils and foreign learners as well. The trainees can learn more than 2500 the most commonly used Chinese charactersThe literacy of elementary school for six years is learning Chinese charactersknow moren than 40,000 high frequency phrases formed by these characters This is the approch of learning Chinese cultureand more than 3000 well-turned phrasesit is the way of learning Chinese civilaiztionspeak innumerable Chinese language, pass the barrier  of  words recognition, listening and speaking Chinese language.  Approved through practice the effect of his teaching method is four to six times compared with the current teaching approach .

2. Principle and grounds

a. Concentrated and fast recognition of Chinese characters

Chinese character features in phrase formed with words, but words are less than  phrases. The sequence of learning Chinese is from individual word--phrase—sentence---text. However, the sequence of learning a foreign language is from phrase---sentence---text. Therefore, learning Chinese language should not be like learning a foreign language. That is the difference between Chinese and foreign language. It thanks to the successful method of a Book of a Thousand Characters a thousand years ago. it is effective and self-evident.

b. Phrase-formation with characters

This is Prof. Zhang’s innovation of Chinese language teaching approach, which seems to decodng the Chinese characters and has been approved why more than 2000 characters are enough for use. That is the differrence of traditional Chinese teaching methods, just as the saying goes  “twice the result with half the effort and half the result with twice the effort”.

Foreign learners think that it is difficult for them to learn and write Chinese and they cannot write Chinese characters well. This has been caused by an improper teaching approach. Prof. Zhang’s new approach makes the writing of Chinese characters more easy and handsome, which has already been accepted by market and people.

d. Software integrated with character recogniton , writing, listening and speaking

The software makes native Chinese and foreign learners study Chinese language simply, which can be used for self-taught material.

3. Characteristics and methods

a.       Theoretical and academic achievement

Freed from the mysterious verbose of academism and empiricism, Prof. Zhang’s studies of Chinese language teaching approach involves in the features and differences beween Chinese and foreign languages, summarization of historical and realistic experiences and comprehensive inheritance of all kinds of successful methods, innovation and development. It has become the most theoretical and practical contemporary Chinese language teaching approach.

Prof. Zhang’s method comprehensively settled the problems exsited in  character recognition, listening, writing and speaking Chinese. It is not inferior compared with A Book of Thousand Characters. The content is coherent , highlighted, more knowledgeable and teachable.
